Bye Bye Baby

This weekend my husband and I are going to Belgium without our daughter. This will be the first time I’ve been away from her overnight and I have mixed emotions about it all. I’m excited to spend some time with my husband away from work and household duties, but I have some guilt about leaving my daughter behind. She’ll be in good hands since my in-laws are taking care of her at our place.  Plus, I know it’s healthy to do things without your children and it’s important for the marital relationship. I am excited for Belgian waffles and chocolate, getting lost in Brugge or just sleeping in without having to keep one ear open for the baby’s cry. I just hope I can enjoy it all without feeling like a bad mother.

I guess all moms go through this the first time they’re away from their baby, right?

It’s very natural to feel guilty. Relax and enjoy your time together. Nora will be fine.

So would that make me a bad mom if I didn’t feel guilty? I would LOVE it!!! Enjoy your time away and relax:)
